TÉMISCOUATA HAUT EN COULEUR
This project, initiated by the MRC of Témiscouata, highlights eight people from immigrant backgrounds who have chosen to put down roots in the region. I had the privilege of meeting them and creating portraits with them. In this series, I wanted to give an important place to the people being photographed in the construction of their own image. Each person was able to choose the place and the colour that best represented them, as well as the photograph in which they felt most themselves among the portraits created. The poses were not imposed, allowing instead for a more natural expression of their presence. This approach is part of my photographic practice, in which I seek to share more of the power of the image with the people being represented. The goal of this exhibition is to highlight these human journeys and to remind us that immigrants are much more than a response to labour market needs.
